Framing
Reflective practice is the antecedent of every other Practice. Not its decorative finish.
Narrative
Guided and spontaneous reflection is how a nurse moves a behavior from rule-based execution toward situational mastery. The sub-competency is positioned in the AACN's professionalism domain because it is what allows a nurse to recognize, after a hard shift, that the rule they followed produced the wrong outcome, and to adjust the rule. In Kaira this sub-competency is the engine of the journal: the structured reflection that, over time, becomes the evidence base for the nurse's own progression on every other sub-competency. It maps to Practice 2 (Heart) because the discipline of reflection is fundamentally relational: with oneself, with the patient, with the team. Without it, P3 (Hands) experience does not compound into P4 (Integration).

Anchors note
Behavioral anchors are still in authoring for 10.2a. The Progression Indicators below use the AACN level descriptors directly.
Pre-selected as a hero sub-competency: 10.2a is the meta-sub-competency that determines whether the other 433 grow.
